Being architecture

72″ x 48″, pencil and graphite on watercolor paper

The project is a self-portrait of me posing as a transition moment in architecture. Aligning myself with a column and handrail, I attempted to explore what transition spaces will face in everyday use of architecture. The drawing was done by breaking the organic geometries into fragmented surfaces with short cross-hatching straight lines in order to create mini transition moments at the micro scale.

Emotion of a Line – Surprise

72″ x 48″, ink on watercolor paper

The drawing attempts to re-create the sensibility of the emotion of surprise at a large scale by presenting each line as an element of surprise. The feeling is conceived as an abnormal surge of uncontrolled movement (the splash) in a series of calibrated, controlled normative positioning processes.
